Recently we were presented with an old Intel 2320 based system and was asked how best to go about making incremental improvements, primarily for gaming. This is a really budget orientated build but we wanted to point our client in the direction of something that would at least offer a decent upgrade path for the future. By putting a solid foundation in place now should enable him to continue upgrades later down the line with the hardware we advise still being relevant when that time comes.
Our recommendations were a little over budget so we cut back a little and a few days later, the system was dropped off with an AMD 2600X, ASUS Republic of Gamers B450-F, 16 GB of Corsair LPX and an EVGA 600W PSU to throw in the system.
After a few hours, we had his new system all ready to go, cleaned and tidied up the best we could. On our end, we threw in a couple of additional 120mm fans to keep his system chilly until more upgrades can be made.
A fresh install of Windows and some testing then it was all set to go. Coming from the Intel 2320, this is sure to make his life a little easier. With time, the case, GPU and storage needs will also be addressed making this a great little mid-range system for gaming and productivity. We will, of course, follow this one as it continues to progress later in the year. For now, though, he is more than happy and we are pleased to have been able to help in making this happen.
